- Head of Manufacturing Engineering – Roles & Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing Strategy
- Develop and implement the manufacturing engineering strategy aligned with business goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for productivity, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and capacity expansion plans.
2. Process Development
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Standardize work methods and operating procedures.
- Improve cycle time, throughput, and equipment utilization.
3. Production Support
- Resolve manufacturing process issues.
- Provide technical support to production teams.
- Ensure smooth production ramp-up for new products.
4. Lean Manufacturing
- Lead Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping initiatives.
- Eliminate waste and improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
5. Automation & Technology
- Identify and implement automation opportunities.
- Evaluate and introduce new manufacturing technologies.
- Lead digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives where applicable.
6. Equipment & Tooling
- Specify, procure, install, and commission manufacturing equipment.
- Develop preventive maintenance strategies with maintenance teams.
- Ensure tooling availability and optimization.
7. Quality Improvement
- Collaborate with Quality to reduce defects and improve process capability.
- Lead root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems.
8. Cost Management
- Drive manufacturing cost reduction projects.
- Optimize material usage and labor efficiency.
- Prepare and manage engineering budgets.
9. Project Management
- Manage capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects.
- Lead factory layout improvements and expansion projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
10. Team Leadership
- Recruit, develop, and mentor manufacturing engineers.
- Set departmental objectives and KPIs.
- Conduct performance reviews and succession planning.
11. Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations.
- Promote a strong safety culture.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
12. Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Support internal and external audits.
13. Supplier & Customer Support
- Provide technical support to suppliers for process improvements.
- Interface with customers on manufacturing-related issues.
- Support customer audits and product transfers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹85,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
