Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager – Safety & Security is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, and compliant environment for students, staff, visitors, and school assets. The role oversees campus security operations, emergency preparedness, health and safety compliance, fire safety systems, surveillance, access control, and security personnel to maintain a secure learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor campus safety and security policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Supervise daily operations of security personnel, housekeeping coordination (where applicable), and visitor management systems.
- Ensure effective access control at all campus entry and exit points.
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems, alarm systems, and other security infrastructure.
- Conduct regular security patrols, safety inspections, and risk assessments across the campus.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and oversee the maintenance of fire detection and firefighting equipment.
- Coordinate emergency response plans, evacuation drills, mock drills, and crisis management activities.
- Investigate security incidents, accidents, and safety violations, and submit detailed reports with corrective actions.
- Coordinate with local police, fire departments, emergency services, and other government authorities when required.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and statutory regulations applicable to educational institutions.
- Maintain records of incidents, visitor logs, security reports, and statutory documentation.
- Conduct safety awareness and emergency response training for employees, students, and security staff.
- Manage contracts and performance of external security agencies and service providers.
- Support school events by planning crowd management, traffic control, and VIP security arrangements.
- Monitor security budgets and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Reporting Manager or Management.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
- Certification or Diploma in Industrial Safety, Fire & Safety, Security Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- 5–8 years of experience in safety, security, facilities, or administration.
- Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in schools, educational institutions, hospitals, corporate campuses, or large residential communities is preferred.
