Job Summary:
SMPC Industries is seeking a Packing Supervisor to oversee day-to-day packing operations in our sheet metal processing unit. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that finished goods are properly packed, labeled, and dispatched in coordination with production, quality, and logistics teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide packing team members to achieve daily targets.
- Ensure correct packing methods using appropriate materials (pallets, straps, corner protectors, etc.).
- Plan and allocate manpower according to dispatch priorities and production schedules.
- Check finished goods for proper labeling, count, and quality before dispatch.
- Coordinate closely with production, dispatch, and quality departments for timely completion.
- Maintain daily packing reports and stock of packing materials.
- Enforce safety procedures and maintain 5S standards in the packing area.
- Identify and implement improvements in packing efficiency and material usage.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial or related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in packing supervision in a manufacturing or sheet metal industry.
- Strong leadership and manpower management skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel for report entry.
- Understanding of packing tools, material standards, and safety norms.
- Good communication skills in Tamil and basic English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-bound environment.
Work Timing (Rotational Shifts – 8 Hours):
- Shift 1: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Shift 2: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Shift 3: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
Candidates must be open to rotational shifts on a weekly basis.
