Position: MEP Engineer

QUALIFICATION
Essential
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred
- Additional qualification/certification in MEP, HVAC, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, or Project Management.
EXPERIENCE
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in MEP/project execution.
- Experience in mechanical construction, EPC, industrial projects, oil & gas, semiconductor, manufacturing, infrastructure, or similar project environments preferred.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in site execution, subcontractor management, testing, commissioning, and client coordination will be preferred
- TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Good knowledge of MEP installation and construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Knowledge of BOQ and quantity measurement.
- Knowledge of manpower/productivity monitoring.
- Knowledge of testing and commissioning.
- Understanding of relevant engineering standards and specifications.
- Knowledge of project scheduling and progress monitoring.
- Primavera/MS Project knowledge will be an added advantage.
1. JOB PURPOSE
To plan, coordinate, supervise, and execute MEP activities at project sites in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, client requirements, quality standards, safety procedures, and project schedules.
The MEP Engineer will be responsible for effective coordination between Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil, QA/QC, HSE, Procurement, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives to ensure timely and successful completion of assigned project activities.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Project Planning & Execution
- Understand the project scope, drawings, specifications, BOQ, schedule, and contractual requirements.
- Plan day-to-day MEP activities in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Prepare manpower, material, tools, equipment, and resource requirements.
- Execute MEP activities as per the approved project schedule.
- Monitor planned vs. actual progress and take corrective action wherever required.
- Identify delays, constraints, material shortages, drawing issues, and manpower requirements and report them promptly.
- Ensure maximum utilization of manpower and resources.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to avoid work interruptions and interface issues.
B. MEP Site Execution
Supervise and coordinate installation, testing, and commissioning of applicable MEP systems, including:
- HVAC and ventilation systems.
- Chilled water and utility piping.
- Compressed air and other utility systems.
- Fire-fighting systems.
- Pumps and mechanical equipment.
- Water supply and drainage systems.
- Plumbing and sanitary systems.
- Electrical power/control requirements for mechanical equipment.
- Equipment connections and associated MEP services.
C. Drawing & Engineering Coordination
- Review approved drawings and specifications before commencement of work.
- Ensure site execution is strictly as per approved drawings.
- Identify discrepancies, clashes, and constructability issues.
- Raise RFIs/technical queries wherever clarification is required.
- Coordinate with the engineering team for drawing revisions and technical solutions.
- Maintain the latest approved drawings at the site.
- Assist in preparation of as-built drawings.
D. Manpower & Productivity Management
- Plan and allocate manpower based on work fronts and project priorities.
- Supervise technicians, fitters, welders, electricians, plumbers, and subcontractor manpower.
- Monitor daily manpower deployment and productivity.
- Ensure sufficient work fronts are available for the workforce.
- Identify idle manpower and take corrective measures.
- Maintain daily productivity records and submit reports to the Project Manager.
- Ensure site manpower follows company and client requirements.
E. Material & Equipment Management
- Prepare material requirements based on project schedules and work fronts.
- Coordinate with Procurement/Stores for timely availability of materials.
- Verify materials received at site against approved specifications and quantities.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of MEP materials.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
- Identify material shortages well in advance.
- Ensure availability and proper utilization of tools, tackles, and equipment.
F. Quality Control
- Ensure MEP works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with QA/QC Engineers for inspections.
- Prepare and submit inspection requests.
- Ensure required checklists and inspection records are completed.
- Monitor installation quality and workmanship.
- Identify and rectify defects and non-conformities.
- Minimize rework and ensure proper closure of quality observations.
G. Testing & Commissioning
- Plan and coordinate testing and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate pressure testing, flushing, leak testing, functional testing, and other applicable tests.
- Coordinate with vendors, QA/QC, client, and consultant during testing.
- Ensure test reports and commissioning records are properly maintained.
- Support final inspection and system handover.
- Assist in preparation of punch-list and ensure timely closure.
H. Client & Subcontractor Coordination
- Coordinate with client representatives, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Attend site coordination meetings.
- Follow up on approvals, inspections, drawings, technical queries, and work permits.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and progress.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with project specifications, safety requirements, and schedules.
- Escalate critical issues to the Project Manager without delay.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain and submit:
- Daily Progress Reports (DPR).
- Daily manpower reports.
- Material requirement reports.
- Productivity reports.
- Inspection requests.
- RFI/technical queries.
- Test reports.
- Method statements and checklists.
- As-built information.
- Punch-list status.
- Weekly/monthly progress reports.
- Other project documentation as required by the client/company.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
