Role Purpose
We are looking for a Team Lead to join our Research Team with the Sales Operations function in JLL Business Services.
The Team Lead will be responsible to manage, provide strategic oversight and guidance to our research team members working with global JLL Research Teams. This role combines hands-on team leadership with people management, project management and quality oversight, ensuring the team delivers accurate, timely research outputs that meet expectations of research leaders and the regional research teams. The Team Lead acts as a bridge between the team and internal/external stakeholders – managing projects, coaching team members, build self and team’s domain knowledge, safeguarding data quality and timeliness, and translating broader Research strategy into day-to-day execution.
What this job involves:
Team & Workflow Management
Responsible for working with the Global Research Leaders and Regional Research teams for allocation of work to JBS team members and monitoring of workflow
Support the team on execution and augment their research capabilities
Monitoring work priorities, manage competing demands, and ensure the team meets deadlines and quality standards
Ensure team's adherence to expected turnaround time and accuracy of activities undertaken
Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with JLL values
Stakeholder Management
Understand stakeholder use cases and research problems, and proactively suggest solutions
Lead the team to fulfil stakeholder expectations on projects, focusing on quality and timelines
Lead calls with stakeholders on process updates, resourcing, and scoping
Serve as player-coach, proactively delivering insights and research products that demonstrate strong market knowledge
Manage and develop stakeholder relationships (internal and external), including responsiveness to feedback
Quality, Process & Data Management
Audit and perform quality review for team members' outputs
Ensure strict adherence to agreed procedures and process flows
Provide support to the Research team for commercial real estate research, including data upload, data clean-up, data analysis, writing market commentary, insight generation, and report edits
Coordinate with Research team leadership on priority focus areas, such as data quality sprints to increase completeness and quality of data
Apply a process and quality-driven mindset focused on accuracy, timeliness, standardization, efficiency, partner with the Research Manager to instill a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across the team, encouraging proactive problem-solving
Adhere to agreed KPIs, KRAs, SLAs, and service standards
Identify and surface automation opportunities across research workflows, services, and business lines in partnership with JBS and regional research teams, contributing to the team's automation pipeline
Project Management & Reporting
Manage project activities from planning and scoping through execution, delivery, and cascading feedback to the team
Timely and accurate operational reporting (utilization, SLAs, KPIs, operational data) to support business operations and leadership decision-making
Translate organizational strategy into actionable steps for the team
Participate in ad hoc projects as and when required
Team Development & Performance
Conduct one-on-one meetings with team members to understand their aspirations, deliver feedback, and enhance collaboration
Identify training needs, analyze training outcomes, and redesign training courses as required
Responsible for team performance management and feedback
Coach and mentor team members to build capability and drive results through others
Build self and team’s domain and Commercial Real Estate knowledge and technical expertise over time
Desired Skills
Excellent people management and stakeholder engagement skills, with strong operations skills
Collaborative attitude and willingness to both work independently and as part of a dynamic matrixed organization
A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in research or a related business or professional services sector
Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop and manage stakeholder relationships
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Excel skills, e.g. Pivots, complex formulas, etc. and understanding of AI tools and ways of working; Has foundational understanding of what AI is and understands distinction between different AI tools and outputs.
