Job Summary
The Quality Control Inspector (Finished Goods) serves as the final barrier of protection before products leave the facility. This role involves inspecting, testing, and evaluating completed products against rigorous specifications, blueprints, and regulatory guidelines to guarantee that zero non-conforming items reach customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Final Inspection & Functional Testing: Perform end-line physical, visual, and dimensional inspections on finished inventory using precision instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and testing tools.
- Compliance & Specification Verification: Compare finished products against engineering schematics, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality checklists to verify strict adherence to tolerances.
- Non-Conformance & Defect Management: Identify, tag, quarantine, and document defective or non-conforming finished items (NCMR) to prevent accidental shipment.
- Packaging & Pre-Shipment Audit: Verify product labeling, barcodes, batch/lot numbers, serial numbers, packaging integrity, and shipping documentation prior to dispatch.
- Data Logging & Reporting: Record detailed daily inspection results, defect logs, rejection rates, and yield metrics in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Quality Management System (QMS).
- Root Cause Collaboration: Partner with production, manufacturing engineering, and warehouse teams to investigate recurring defects, conduct root-cause analysis, and recommend process improvements.
- Equipment Calibration: Ensure all inspection devices and measurement instruments are calibrated, maintained, and verified according to standard schedule.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or technical certification in Quality Control/Quality Management is preferred.
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience as a QC Inspector, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing, assembly, or finished goods warehouse setting.
- Certifications (Preferred): Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), ISO 9001 internal auditor, or Lean Six Sigma Green/Yellow Belt.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Technical Reading: Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, CAD layouts, or product specifications.
- Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with handheld tools (micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, multimeters) or automated testing equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Sharp eye for visual flaws, aesthetic defects, dimension variances, and documentation errors.
- Digital Literacy: Basic to intermediate proficiency in QMS systems, ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and MS Excel/Word.
- Problem-Solving: Knowledge of root cause methods (5 Whys, Ishikawa/Fishbone diagrams, Pareto analysis).
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods on the production line/warehouse floor.
- Occasional lifting of products or packages (up to 25–50 lbs depending on industry).
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, ear protection).
Pay: ₹9,766.90 - ₹30,000.00 per month
