Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Legal Officer – Real Estate to manage all legal matters related to land acquisition, property transactions, contracts, litigation, and statutory compliance. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in real estate laws, legal due diligence, documentation, dispute resolution, and liaison with government authorities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Land Acquisition & Legal Due Diligence
- Conduct legal due diligence for land and property transactions.
- Verify title documents, ownership records, encumbrances, and approvals.
- Identify legal risks associated with acquisitions and provide mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with internal teams during land acquisition processes.
2. Drafting & Vetting Legal Documents
- Draft, review, and vet legal agreements including:
- Joint Development Agreements (JDA)
- Sale Deeds
- Lease Agreements
- Construction Contracts
- Vendor Agreements
- Power of Attorney documents
- Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs)
- Ensure legal documents protect company interests and comply with applicable laws.
3. Litigation & Dispute Management
- Handle civil, property, contractual, and regulatory disputes.
- Draft and review legal notices, replies, petitions, and representations.
- Coordinate with external advocates and counsels for court matters.
- Track ongoing litigation cases and maintain legal records.
4. Regulatory & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- RERA regulations
- Land laws
- Registration laws
- Municipal and statutory regulations
- Stamp duty and property registration requirements
- Monitor changes in real estate laws and advise management accordingly.
5. Liaison & Government Coordination
- Liaise with government departments, registration authorities, municipal offices, and legal agencies.
- Follow up on legal approvals, registrations, permissions, and clearances.
- Coordinate with external legal consultants and statutory authorities.
6. Advisory Support
- Provide legal guidance to management on real estate projects and transactions.
- Support business teams in evaluating legal implications of projects.
- Assist in risk assessment and legal decision-making.

- Strong knowledge of real estate and property laws
- Expertise in drafting and vetting contracts and agreements

- Sound understanding of RERA and statutory compliance

Preferred Candidate Profile
- LLB mandatory; LLM preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in real estate / construction legal functions
- Experience in handling property transactions and legal litigation
- Strong exposure to land acquisition and regulatory matters
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple legal cases simultaneously.
