Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager/Manager – Procurement to handle procurement of electrical materials for EPC, solar, and infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of electrical equipment, EPC procurement, vendor management, negotiation, cost analysis, and ERP/SAP systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Sourcing
- Procure electrical materials including cables, conductors, switchgear, transformers, CT/PT, panels, earthing materials, and solar BOS items.
- Prepare RFQs and obtain quotations from approved and potential vendors.
- Prepare techno-commercial comparison sheets and conduct cost analysis.
- Identify and develop alternate vendors to ensure competitive pricing and timely supply.
Vendor Management & Negotiation
- Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty, and commercial conditions with vendors.
- Evaluate and onboard new suppliers.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance, quality, pricing, and delivery timelines.
Purchase Order & Delivery Management
- Prepare and execute Purchase Orders as per approved requirements.
- Track orders from PO placement to final delivery.
- Coordinate with vendors, project teams, stores, logistics, and finance for timely material availability.
- Ensure procurement is aligned with project schedules and requirements.
Technical & Project Coordination
- Coordinate with Engineering, Project, QA/QC, Stores, and Finance teams.
- Ensure materials comply with approved BOQ, technical specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
- Support project teams in procurement planning, cost control, and budget adherence.
Cost & Market Analysis
- Monitor market prices and fluctuations of copper, aluminum, steel, and other electrical commodities.
- Conduct supplier and market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support management in procurement budgeting and cost optimization.
ERP, GRN & Documentation
- Handle GRN, invoice verification, purchase documentation, and ERP/SAP entries.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and vendor documentation.
- Ensure timely closure of procurement-related documentation.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Electrical Procurement & EPC Projects.
- Hands-on experience with SAP B1 / ERP systems.
- Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Advanced MS Excel skills for costing, comparison sheets, and procurement analysis.
- Understanding of contracts, commercial terms, Incoterms, and logistics.
- Strong analytical and cost-control skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and procurement requirements simultaneously.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Qualification & Experience
- B.Tech / B.E. – Electrical Engineering
- 5–8 years of experience in Electrical Procurement.
- Experience in EPC / Infrastructure / Solar / Industrial Projects is preferred.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in procurement of electrical equipment and solar BOS materials will be preferred.
