Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Develop and optimize fabrication processes, including designing equipment and tooling for various fabrication techniques (welding, cutting, bending, etc.).
- Process Optimization: Implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with product design teams to ensure manufacturability, provide feedback on design specifications, and collaborate with other engineers and technicians.
- Quality Assurance: Design and implement testing procedures, perform stress testing, and ensure the quality and integrity of fabricated components and systems.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify and address technical issues and setbacks that may arise during fabrication, implementing corrective actions to improve yields.
- Documentation and Reporting: Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and technical reports.
- Mentorship and Training: Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Stay Updated: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in fabrication.
- Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials for fabrication, considering factors like strength, durability, cost, and availability.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all fabrication processes adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
