We are seeking an experienced L3 OpenShift & Automation Engineer on behalf of our premier client in the Information Technology industry. In this role, you will serve as the technical authority for the client's OpenShift platform. You will design complex Hosted Control Plane (HCP) architectures, lead migration strategies from legacy hypervisors to OpenShift Virtualization, and build the Ansible automation framework powering their enterprise infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Architecture & Scale: Design and implement Hosted Control Plane (HCP) architectures and customized Agent-based deployment workflows for client environments.
- Modernization & Migration: Lead the strategy for OpenShift Virtualization, enabling the seamless coexistence of containers and VMs on a single platform.
- Advanced Automation: Develop complex Ansible Roles and Collections to automate the entire infrastructure lifecycle via Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- L3 Escalation Support: Serve as the final point of contact for deep-dive troubleshooting involving SDN, storage CSI, and cluster-wide performance tuning.
- Mentorship & Standards: Define best practices for Linux/Windows integration and mentor L2 client engineers in automation and container standards.
Technical Requirements
- Platform Expertise: 5+ years in Infrastructure Engineering with expert-level Red Hat OpenShift knowledge.
- Virtualization Specialization: Deep expertise in OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt), including networking (Multus) and storage (ODF/Ceph) for VMs.
- Automation Mastery: Expert knowledge of Ansible, including developing playbooks, roles, and integrations with CI/CD pipelines.
- Hypervisors: Strong conceptual knowledge of VMware and Hyper-V to facilitate migration and integration.
Certifications
- Required: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
- Required: Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization (or equivalent advanced OpenShift certification)
- Highly Desirable: Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
