Job Summary
We are looking for a Paravet – Hospital OPD to assist Veterinary Doctors in the smooth functioning of the hospital's OPD. The candidate will support consultations, animal handling, treatment procedures, patient care, documentation and day-to-day veterinary hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Veterinary Doctors during OPD consultations and examinations.
- Safely handle and restrain animals during examination and treatment.
- Prepare examination and treatment areas before consultations.
- Assist Veterinary Doctors with injections, wound dressing, medication administration and other procedures.
- Assist during minor procedures and diagnostic activities as directed by the Doctor.
- Provide pre-treatment and post-treatment support and care to animals.
- Monitor animals during and after treatment and report abnormalities to the Veterinary Doctor.
- Prepare, arrange and maintain medical instruments and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and infection-control standards within the OPD.
- Maintain adequate stock of medicines, consumables and other medical supplies.
- Maintain patient records, treatment records and other required documentation.
- Assist in the movement and handling of animals within the hospital.
- Coordinate with Veterinary Doctors, other Paravets, animal handlers and hospital staff.
- Follow hospital SOPs, safety procedures and animal welfare guidelines.
- Report stock shortages, equipment issues and other operational concerns to the concerned senior.
- Support the veterinary team in ensuring smooth and efficient OPD functioning.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma/Certificate in Veterinary Paraveterinary, Animal Husbandry or Veterinary Assistant course.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Veterinary hospital, clinic or OPD experience will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of animal handling and basic veterinary procedures.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hospital environment.
- Compassionate, responsible and disciplined approach towards animal care.
Compensation
Salary up to ₹25,000 per month, based on experience, last drawn salary, skills and interview performance.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
