Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical panels are manufactured, inspected, and tested in accordance with approved drawings, customer specifications, and standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical testing, quality documentation, and inspection procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of electrical control panels.
- Inspect panel fabrication, dimensions, component mounting, busbar assembly, wiring, and overall workmanship.
- Verify panel assembly as per General Arrangement (GA) drawings, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Check cable routing, ferruling, wire numbering, terminal connections, cable dressing, and panel identification.
- Perform routine electrical tests, including Insulation Resistance (IR), Continuity, Functional, Hi-Pot (where applicable), Interlock, Protection Relay, and Phase Sequence testing.
- Ensure compliance with IEC 61439, customer specifications, and company quality standards.
- Identify non-conformities, prepare NCRs where required, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with production and design teams.
- Prepare inspection reports, test reports, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) reports, quality records, and test certificates.
- Support customer inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and third-party inspections.
- Maintain quality documentation and ensure all records are complete and accurate.
- Provide daily work updates and communicate quality status to the department and management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in Quality Control within an electrical manufacturing company.
- Ability to read and interpret GA drawings, SLDs, schematic diagrams, wiring drawings, and BOMs.
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing equipments.
- Knowledge of IEC 61439, ISO 9001, and electrical safety practices.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
