A clinical instructor in a hospital trains, mentors, and evaluates nursing staff and students to ensure safe, evidence-based patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Supervision: Monitor and guide nursing students or new staff during hospital floor duties.
- Training and Education: Conduct hospital orientation programs, in-service education, and specialized clinical training.
- Competency Assessment: Evaluate clinical skills, perform nursing audits, and identify gaps in staff performance.
- Theory-Practice Integration: Help learners connect classroom knowledge to real-world bedside scenarios.
- Collaboration: Work with unit managers and healthcare teams to uphold hospital quality and safety standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSc Nursing).
- Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license or relevant medical certification.
- Experience: 1 to 5 years of practical clinical or teaching experience.
