We currently have an Assistant Manager position available with our client, Azets Bristol, in the Compliance division.
Role Overview:
To support the UK Compliance Director and Senior Manager in assisting the ongoing improvement of our internal quality and risk systems, processes, compliance and minimisation of regulatory risk. Awareness and practical experience in AML, investment Business, Practice Assurance and Client Money Regulations are desirable, with a working knowledge of ICAEW or similar regulations. Provide support to the UK Compliance team in driving continuous improvement and reducing regulatory risk.
Key Responsibilities

Act as a key point of contact for ethical, regulatory, and engagement-related compliance queries

Provide guidance on compliance matters and support stakeholders across service lines and corporate functions

Support the firm's regulatory and risk management framework, ensuring consistent compliance practices

Draft, review, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, guidance notes, and internal knowledge resources

Conduct compliance monitoring reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure adherence to regulatory and professional standards

Assist with internal investigations and resolution of compliance-related matters

Support regulatory filings, notifications, and annual compliance returns

Prepare management reports, compliance dashboards, and board packs

Review compliance documentation and provide guidance to colleagues on regulatory requirements and internal processes

Draft and distribute compliance communications, updates, and guidance across the business

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on compliance and regulatory matters

Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business

Drive process improvements and support the implementation of compliance systems and controls

Support AML, sanctions, conflict checks, independence, and professional standards compliance activities

Review and monitor compliance with continuing professional development (CPD) requirements

Lead or support compliance-related projects and initiatives as required
Key Accountabilities

Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory, professional, and internal compliance requirements

Maintain accurate compliance records, policies, reporting data, and governance documentation

Support the consistent implementation of regulatory and compliance processes across the business

Identify, assess, and escalate compliance risks where appropriate

Build strong relationships with stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor on compliance matters

Contribute to continuous improvement of the firm's compliance and risk management framework
Skills & Experience

6+ years of experience in Audit or accounting with interest in pursuing their career in Compliance

Experience working within a regulated environment, Chartered Accountancy firm, professional services organization, financial servics institution, or consulting firm

Understanding of regulatory frameworks, professional standards, risk management, and compliance monitoring

Exposure to UK regulatory bodies and frameworks (ICAEW, FCA, ICAS, ACCA, CAI) would be advantageous but is not essential

Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and advise senior management

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience working with compliance-related data and reporting

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
