Welding Operations
- Perform various welding processes such as:
- MIG (Metal Inert Gas)
- TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas)
- Arc welding (SMAW)
- Join metal components according to specifications.
- Monitor welding equipment and maintain proper settings for each job.
Fitting and Assembly
- Assemble metal parts before welding to check for alignment and fit.
- Use clamps, jigs, and fixtures to hold components in place.
- Ensure final assemblies meet dimensional tolerances.
Inspection and Quality Control
- Inspect welded joints and assemblies for defects such as cracks, porosity, or misalignment.
- Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to verify dimensions.
- Report any deviations or issues to supervisors or engineers.
Maintenance and Safety
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and workstations in good condition.
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents (use of PPE, ventilation, fire safety).
- Handle hazardous materials and fumes safely.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Record work progress and materials used.
- Report completed tasks and any issues encountered.
- Maintain logs for quality assurance and compliance purposes.
Key Skills Required
- Proficiency in different welding techniques.
- Understanding of metallurgy and materials.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices.
