Job description:
1. **Groundwork and Farmer Engagement:**
- Publicize FPC formation schemes among farmers.
- Conduct field visits and farmer meetings within the district.
- Mobilize farmers, collect share amounts, and federate them into the Farmer Producer
Company Limited.
2. **Business Planning and Development:**
- Plan business activities, assess demand for products manufactures and other items owned by the company.
- Develop business plans and budgets for upcoming cropping seasons.
3. **Government Liaison:**
- Liaise with government departments for financial grants, subsidies, and other support for the
FPC and its members.
4. **Partnership and Marketing:**
- Identify agri-input companies and output marketing partners to collaborate and market
products.
- Set business targets for the company and individual team members.
5. **Brand Establishment and Development:**
- Establish brands, design logos, and packaging for primary produce/value-added products.
6. **Member Relations:**
- Develop strong relationships with member farmers and ensure their maximum participation
in business transactions through the FPC.
7. **Compliance and Reporting:**
- Ensure legal compliances, conduct AGMs, and timely audits of company accounts.
- Adopt required IT tools and technologies to improve working efficiencies.
- Assess infrastructure needs and generate funds for setting up necessary facilities
8. **Human Resources:**
- Assess manpower requirements, select, and recruit personnel for business execution.
9. **Financial Management:**
- Ensure collection of share capital and distribution of patronage dividends, prepare annual budget, monitor financial performance, plan working capital, supervise book keeping, handling bank operations, tax compliance’s, facilitate audit, financial reporting etc.
- Report to the Board of Directors on the company’s business performance.
10. **Growth and Expansion:**
- Engage in activities to promote the growth of the FPC, increase business prospects, and
explore export opportunities.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree with MBA particularly in Agribusiness Management,
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the agricultural or
cooperative sector is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven track record in business development, government liaison, and compliance
management.
- Proficiency in using IT tools and software for business operations.
