Fashion Designer & Studio Executive
About the Role
We are looking for a creative and passionate Fashion Designer with 1+ year of experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have a strong eye for design, colour, fabrics, silhouettes, and detailing, along with the ability to translate ideas into elegant, market-ready ethnic wear.
In addition to designing collections, you will play a key role in managing the daily operations of our design studio and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Product Development
- Create mood boards, design concepts, and detailed sketches for premium Indian ethnic wear.
- Develop embroidery layouts, colour stories, and fabric combinations.
- Source fabrics, trims, laces, and accessories.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely execution.
- Oversee sample development and fittings, making necessary design improvements.
- Ensure every design aligns with the brand’s aesthetic and quality standards.
- Stay up to date with fashion trends while maintaining the brand’s signature style.
Studio Management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the design studio.
- Welcome and assist clients with styling and outfit selection.
- Maintain elegant visual merchandising and product displays.
- Manage inventory and stock organisation.
- Coordinate customer orders, alterations, and deliveries.
- Ensure the studio remains clean, organised, and reflects the brand’s premium image.
- Assist with photoshoots, product launches, and new collection displays.
- Support the team in maintaining smooth studio operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Fashion Design.
- 1+ year of experience in fashion design or a similar role.
- Strong sketching and creative design skills.
- Good understanding of fabrics, garment construction, embroidery techniques, and garment finishing.
- Passion for Indian ethnic wear and contemporary fashion.
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar design software is preferred.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A customer-focused attitude with excellent styling sense.
- Fluency in English and Malayalam (Hindi is an added advantage).
