Job Summary:
The Fabrication Welder is responsible for cutting, fitting, fabricating, and welding metal components according to engineering drawings and production requirements. The role ensures high-quality workmanship while following safety standards and meeting production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Cut, grind, fit, and assemble metal parts before welding.
- Fabricate machine frames, structures, and sheet metal components.
- Inspect welds for quality, strength, and dimensional accuracy.
- Operate welding machines, cutting tools, grinders, and fabrication equipment safely.
- Repair defective welds and rework components when required.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of welding tools and equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area (5S).
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to meet delivery schedules.
- Report material shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- ITI Welder, Fabricator, Fitter, or equivalent qualification.
- 1–5 years of experience in fabrication and welding.
- Experience in industrial machinery or engineering fabrication is preferred.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read fabrication drawings.
- Measuring and marking skills.
- Metal cutting and grinding techniques.
- Attention to detail and quality.
- Knowledge of welding safety standards.
- Teamwork and time management.
- Basic troubleshooting of welding equipment.
Working Hours:
Monday to Saturday (as per company policy)
