Position: Senior Veterinary Surgeon / Veterinary Surgeon
Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
Employment Type: Full-Time (Urgent Requirement)
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated, skilled, and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon / Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Center in Coimbatore as soon as possible. The primary focus of this role is leading high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter operations, managing surgical protocols, and ensuring optimal post-operative recovery for community animals.
Key Responsibilities & Technical Requirements
- Surgical Expertise:
- Perform high-volume Ovariohysterectomy (Spay) and Castration (Neuter) surgeries adhering to standard humane ABC protocols.
- Maintain strict aseptic surgical techniques and sterile field standards.
- Anesthesia & Pain Management:
- Calculate, administer, and monitor pre-anesthetic, anesthetic, and post-operative pain management protocols accurately.
- Manage surgical complications, emergencies, and post-operative monitoring effectively.
- Clinical & Case Management:
- Conduct pre-operative physical health assessments to certify animals fit for surgery.
- Oversee post-operative care, wound management, disease screening, and anti-rabies vaccination (ARV) administration.
- Center Operations & Compliance:
- Maintain complete clinical records, drug registers, and surgical logs as required by regulations.
- Guide and support para-vet staff and assistants in sterile prep, restraint, and post-op care.
Qualifications & Background
- Educational Background: BVSc & AH (Master’s in Veterinary Surgery / MVSc is a strong advantage for the Senior position).
- Registration: Active registration with the State Veterinary Council or Veterinary Council of India (VCI).
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year hands-on surgical experience in an Animal Birth Control (ABC) is a must.
- WVS trained Vets are highly preferred.
- Need to be fast with the surgeries without compromising on the quality.
