Assignment Description
olvo Group is seeking an external consultant with strong expertise in SAP architectures and Artificial Intelligence enablement to support the definition and validation of an AI enablement framework for SAP landscapes using Model Context Protocol MCP servers
The assignment focuses on guidance exploration and proof of concept activities supporting Volvo Group in validating approaches and preparing future industrialization
Volvo want to explore MCP open source technology to support AI business scenarios as well as SAP development and implementation equivalent of Joule for Consultant and Developpers as an alternative to Joule

Scope of Work
The consultant will support the following activities
1 AI MCP Framework Guidance
Provide architectural guidance for enabling AI on top of SAP systems using Model Context Protocol MCP
Contribute to defining a target framework and principles for MCP usage in a large SAP environment
Advise on security authentication and responsible AI considerations
2 MCP Server Setup per Domain
Support the definition and setup of MCP servers for distinct domains including
Business support business users functional insights operational support
IT support for SAP consultants functionalconfiguration expertise
IT support for SAP developers ABAP integrations APIs data access
3 SAP Source Systems in Scope
Support AI enablement and access patterns for
SAP S4HANA on premise
SAP BW4HANA on premise
SAP SaaS solutions such as
o SAP SuccessFactors
o SAP Ariba
o SAP Fieldglass
o SAP marketplaces and enablement platforms eg SAP4ME openSAP
4 AI Agents and Tooling
Primary AI agent Microsoft Copilot
Exploration of other relevant AI agents where appropriate
Guidance on agent orchestration and interaction with MCP servers
5 Proof of Concept POC
Support the design and execution of technical and functional POCs
Validate feasibility limitations and value for different user personas
Document findings and recommendations
Key Deliverables
AI MCP framework guidelines for SAP
MCP server domain model and setup recommendations
One or more proof of concept implementations
Architecture documentation and lessons learned
Recommendations for next steps and potential industrialization
Required Skills Experience
Experience with SAP landscapes S4HANA BW4HANA SAP SaaS
Proven expertise in AI integration AI agents or copilots
Experience of Model Context Protocol MCP
Knowledge of SAP BTP APIs and OData services
Strong communication skills able to work with both technical and non technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
Experience with Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft AI ecosystem
Experience with AI initiatives on ERP systems
Candidate needs to travel to client office C V Raman Nagar Bagmane for 2 to 3 days or all days wherever applicable
