About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced SAS Developer with strong expertise in SAS programming, SAS Macros, SAS SQL, and SAS Enterprise Guide. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, troubleshooting, and automating SAS-based applications and batch processes supporting critical business operations.
Candidates with experience in Finance, Banking, Healthcare, or large enterprise data environments will be highly preferred.
Key ResponsibilitiesSAS Development & Maintenance:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize programs using Base SAS and Advanced SAS.
- Execute, monitor, and support daily, weekly, and monthly SAS batch jobs.
- Analyze existing SAS code, understand business logic, and implement enhancements.
- Troubleshoot production issues, job failures, and performance bottlenecks.
- Perform code modifications and enhancements based on evolving business requirements.
Automation & Optimization
- Automate manual processes and recurring SAS jobs.
- Develop reusable SAS Macros and automation frameworks.
- Improve operational efficiency through process optimization initiatives.
- Enhance reliability and performance of SAS workloads.
Data Engineering & Reporting
- Work with large-scale datasets, enterprise data warehouses, and reporting systems.
- Utilize SAS SQL for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reporting.
- Support business intelligence and analytical reporting requirements.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems.
Migration & Production Support
- Participate in SAS migration and modernization initiatives.
- Support platform upgrades and maintenance activities.
- Monitor production workloads and ensure SLA adherence.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes for recurring issues.
Collaboration & Version Control
- Manage source code using GitHub and version control best practices.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, and technical teams.
- Participate in requirement analysis, testing, deployment, and production support activities.

Required Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a SAS Developer.
- Strong expertise in Base SAS and Advanced SAS programming.
- Extensive experience with SAS Macros and SAS SQL.
- Hands-on experience with SAS Enterprise Guide (SAS EG).
- Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments.
- Experience in SAS maintenance and migration projects.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and code optimization skills.
- Experience automating manual jobs and operational processes.
- Experience working with large datasets, data warehouses, and enterprise reporting systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Finance, Banking, or Healthcare domains.
- Exposure to Databricks and modern data platforms.
- Understanding of ETL processes and Data Warehousing concepts.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale analytics and reporting solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
