Primary Objective -
Ensure all structural designs prepared by external consultants are accurate, code-compliant, coordinated, and buildable, while maintaining full technical control and minimizing risks during design, permitting, and construction phases.
Role Overview
This role focuses on reviewing, validating, and coordinating structural designs prepared by external consultants for US-based projects.
The position requires strong understanding of structural engineering principles, building codes, constructability, and interdisciplinary coordination. You will work closely with architects, structural consultants, BIM teams, production teams, permitting consultants, and project managers to ensure all structural designs are accurate, code-compliant, coordinated, and buildable.
This is not a repetitive modeling or drafting role. The primary focus is technical review, engineering judgement, quality assurance, constructability, and design coordination.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate structural designs prepared by external consultants for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Livio standards
- Verify structural calculations, assumptions, load paths, and system behavior
- Review structural drawings, framing plans, connection details, foundation systems, and design packages
- Ensure compliance with applicable US building codes including CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, AISI, AISC, and other relevant standards
- Conduct cross-disciplinary reviews of architectural, civil, structural, and MEP drawings
- Identify constructability issues, coordination conflicts, and design risks before construction
- Review anchor bolt layouts, slab elevations, wall locations, hold-down locations, connection details, and load transfer paths
- Establish and maintain structural QA/QC review procedures and checklists
- Coordinate review comments with external consultants and verify incorporation of revisions
- Support permitting teams by reviewing structural plan check comments and approval requirements
- Respond to RFIs, structural clarifications, and technical review requests
- Support construction and production teams in resolving structural coordination issues
- Participate in interdisciplinary design coordination meetings
- Recommend optimized structural systems and value engineering solutions
- Maintain document control and version consistency across all structural deliverables
- Assist in development and continuous improvement of Livio structural design standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline
- 2-5 years of experience in structural engineering, structural design review, structural coordination, or consulting engineering
- Strong understanding of structural behavior, load paths, framing systems, and building design principles
- Ability to independently review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent technical documentation and reporting abilities
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and engineering judgement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cold-Formed Steel (CFS/LGS), structural steel, wood framing, or modular construction
- Experience with US-based projects and building codes
- Exposure to permitting processes and plan review comments
- Experience coordinating with architects, consultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Familiarity with value engineering and constructability reviews
- Experience working in consulting, design review, QA/QC, or peer review environments
