Trimble’s Owner & Public Sector (O&PS) division provides the digital backbone for the world’s most critical infrastructure. We empower government agencies and enterprise owners to plan, build, and operate assets—from highways to smart cities—with unprecedented transparency and efficiency.
In this architect-level role, you will have a massive impact by leading the transition to an AI-augmented Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) at scale. You will go beyond just using traditional coding tools, actively designing complex systems that embed AI agents directly into our global development fabric. Working from our Chennai office, you will serve as a high-visibility technical leader and "Player-Coach," partnering with global stakeholders to bridge long-term business goals with immediate, high-velocity technical execution.
Architectural Leadership: Design resilient, high-availability Cloud SaaS architectures that support the digital backbone of public infrastructure systems.
Agentic Workflow Design: Architect automated environments that integrate AI agents into the development pipeline—automating complex refactoring, parallelizing execution, and creating "self-healing" CI/CD networks.
Technical Strategy & Partnership: Partner closely with Global Product Managers and corporate Architects to align business strategy with cutting-edge engineering execution.
Mentorship & Culture: Serve as a mentor for P2 and P3 engineers, intentionally cultivating a culture of high-velocity delivery, technical excellence, and AI-native thinking.
Rapid Prototyping: Lead high-stakes Proof of Concepts (POCs) for next-generation features, utilizing advanced AI tooling to validate complex architectural assumptions in days instead of weeks.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, paired with 8–12+ years of professional deep-stack software engineering experience.
Architectural Mastery: A proven track record of successfully designing, deploying, and maintaining distributed systems, microservices, and multi-tenant SaaS applications.
Systemic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to manage legacy technical debt while aggressively pursuing modern engineering innovations, ensuring speed never compromises security or scalability.
Global Collaboration: Strong communication skills with cross-continental experience, specifically bridging development strategies between India and our EMEA/US offices.
Polyglot Stack Proficiency (Option A): Expert-level architecture and implementation knowledge in .NET Core, C#, Microservices, and Modern Frontend (Angular/React).
Polyglot Stack Proficiency (Option B): Expert-level architecture and implementation knowledge in Node.js, Java/Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and React.
AI Tooling & Automation: Deep experience with coding assistants and autonomous agents (Cursor, Copilot, Auto-GPT, etc.) with a clear vision for embedding them into an enterprise-grade SDLC.
