Technical Skills
- Stainless steel fabrication knowledge (SS304, SS316/316L, duplex – basics)
- Reading & interpreting fabrication drawings (GA, shop drawings, isometrics)
- Welding processes: GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), SMAW; basic weld symbols
- WPS, PQR & welder qualification awareness
- Fit-up, cutting & forming methods (plasma, laser – basics)
- Surface finish control (Ra requirements, polishing, pickling & passivation)
- Dimensional inspection & tolerances
- Knowledge of codes & standards (ASME, ASTM, ISO, basic GMP exposure)
Production & Shop Floor Skills
- Production planning & sequencing
- Manpower and machine utilization
- Coordination with stores, QC & design
- Handling rework, NCRs & deviations
- Daily production reporting & progress tracking
Quality & Documentation
- QAP understanding & stage inspections
- Material traceability & MTC review
- Weld logs, heat numbers & fabrication records
- Awareness of NDT methods (PT, RT basics)
- ISO 9001 QMS awarness
Soft Skills
- Vendor / subcontractor coordination
- Team handling & supervision
- Problem-solving at shop floor
