Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC drilling machines as per job orders and process sheets
- Load and unload raw materials and finished components
- Assist in machine setup (fixtures, clamping, offsets)
- Select and install appropriate drill tools, taps, and inserts
- Monitor machine operations and adjust feed/speed if required
- Perform drilling, tapping, reaming, and countersinking operations
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and CNC programs (basic understanding of G-code preferred)
- Inspect parts using measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauges, etc.)
- Ensure components meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards
- Perform in-process inspection and record measurements
- Identify and report machine/tool issues to supervisor
- Maintain machine cleanliness and perform basic maintenance
- Follow safety procedures and PPE guidelines
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of CNC machines and machining processes
- Familiarity with G-code and CNC control panels (Fanuc/Siemens/Mitsubishi preferred)
- Ability to read technical drawings and process sheets
- Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, and tool wear
- Understanding of feeds, speeds, and machining parameters
- Quality inspection skills using measuring instruments
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Educational Qualification:
- ITI (Machinist / Turner / Fitter) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
- 1–4 years in CNC drilling or machining operations
- Freshers with CNC training can be considered for trainee roles
Safety & Compliance:
- Strict adherence to shop floor safety practices
- Use of PPE (gloves, goggles, safety shoes, etc.)
- Proper handling of cutting tools and materials
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing/shop floor environment
- Rotational shifts may be required
- Exposure to machine noise, coolant, and metal chips
