Factory Supervisor - Virar

Position Summary
The Factory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily floor operations, managing shop-floor workers, maintaining production schedules, ensuring quality control, and adhering to workplace safety standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Operations & Shop-Floor Supervision
- Manage and coordinate daily factory floor operations to meet daily/weekly production targets.
- Assign tasks to operators, helpers, and technicians efficiently.
- Monitor machine operations and ensure raw materials are provided to workstations on time.
- Troubleshoot daily operational delays or basic technical issues.
2. Manpower & Workforce Management
- Track worker attendance, shift allocations, overtime, and leave schedules.
- Enforce shop-floor discipline, punctuality, and productivity.
- Train new floor workers on machinery operation, quality guidelines, and workflow.
3. Quality & Inventory Control
- Perform routine checks to ensure finished products meet quality standards.
- Track stock levels for raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods.
- Maintain daily log entries of production output, material usage, scrap/rejection rates, and dispatch.
4. Safety & Maintenance
- Enforce safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) rules, and machine safety guidelines on the floor.
- Report machinery breakdowns to the maintenance team promptly to minimize downtime.
- Ensure general cleanliness and maintenance of the factory space (5S implementation).
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: 12th Pass / ITI / Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering (varies by plant type).
- Experience: 1 to 5 years of experience in factory/manufacturing shop-floor supervision.
- Languages: Working knowledge of Hindi & Marathi (essential for worker communication in Virar/Vasai). Basic English is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and manpower management skills.
- Familiarity with machinery operation, stock counting, and shift handling.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Excel / Tally for logs and dispatch challans) is preferred.
Typical Compensation & Working Conditions in Virar
- Salary Range: ₹18,000 – ₹20000 / month (depends on industry type and experience level).
- Shift Structure: 6 days a week; 8 to 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotations where applicable).
