About the Role
Embdes Engineering Solutions is looking for an experienced Bluetooth Embedded/Android Engineer to develop, integrate, and optimize production-grade Bluetooth solutions for embedded Linux and Android platforms.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Bluetooth Classic (A2DP, HFP, AVRCP, SPP) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) with hands-on experience in Android Bluetooth stack development, debugging, and optimization. You will work closely with platform, audio, connectivity, and system teams to build reliable Bluetooth features for automotive and embedded products.
Key Responsibilities
Bluetooth Feature Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Bluetooth Classic and BLE features for embedded Linux and Android platforms.
- Implement and enhance Bluetooth profiles including:
- A2DP
- HFP/HSP
- AVRCP
- PBAP
- SPP
- GATT
- Develop custom BLE services and characteristics for product-specific requirements.
- Build scalable and production-ready Bluetooth software components.
Android Bluetooth Stack Development
- Work across the Android Bluetooth stack including:
- Fluoride
- HAL
- Vendor Bluetooth layers
- Integrate Bluetooth functionality with Android framework and embedded Linux components.
- Support Bluetooth feature customization and platform bring-up.
- Exposure to BlueZ is an added advantage.
A2DP & Audio Development
- Develop and debug A2DP audio streaming.
- Optimize:
- Audio latency
- Synchronization
- Buffer management
- Codec performance
- Handle production scenarios including:
- Pairing
- Auto reconnect
- Role switching
- Suspend/Resume
- Long-duration stability testing
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
- Develop BLE GATT services and custom profiles.
- Implement secure BLE communication.
- Optimize BLE performance, throughput, latency, and power consumption.
- Support BLE provisioning and device communication.
Debugging & Performance Optimization
- Diagnose complex Bluetooth issues using:
- btmon
- hcidump
- Bluetooth snoop logs
- adb
- logcat
- Analyze packet captures and protocol traces.
- Resolve connectivity, interoperability, and stability issues.
- Improve Bluetooth and Wi-Fi coexistence performance.
- Optimize power consumption and connection reliability.
System Integration
- Integrate Bluetooth with:
- Android Framework
- Embedded Linux
- Audio subsystem
- Vendor middleware
- Collaborate with platform, firmware, and application teams.
- Ensure seamless Bluetooth functionality across product releases.
Validation & Release Support
- Support:
- CTS
- VTS
- Production validation
- Release readiness
- Resolve production defects and customer-reported Bluetooth issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
Mandatory Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Embedded Linux and/or Android platform development.
- Strong understanding of Bluetooth Classic architecture.
- Strong understanding of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
- Hands-on experience implementing and debugging:
- A2DP
- HFP/HSP
- AVRCP
- PBAP
- SPP
- GATT
- Experience with Android Bluetooth stack (Fluoride).
- Knowledge of HAL and vendor Bluetooth layers.
- Strong debugging skills using:
- btmon
- hcidump
- adb
- logcat
- Bluetooth snoop logs
- Experience optimizing Bluetooth latency, stability, and power.
- Strong knowledge of Bluetooth pairing, reconnect, and connection management.
- Good understanding of embedded Linux or Android internals.
- Excellent debugging and analytical skills.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to independently drive feature development.
