Summary:
As an Integration Architect, a typical day involves designing, governing, and delivering enterprise integration solutions across SAP, ServiceNow, WebMethods, and other business-critical enterprise applications. The role requires working closely with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, functional teams, DevOps teams, infrastructure, security, and development teams to ensure integrations are scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with business requirements. Daily activities include defining integration architecture, reviewing interface designs, supporting delivery phases, resolving complex integration issues, and driving continuous improvement across multi-system landscapes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to perform independently and act as an SME for enterprise integration architecture across SAP, ServiceNow, WebMethods, and third-party applications.
- Required active participation and contribution in architecture discussions, design reviews, integration governance forums, and stakeholder workshops.
- Contribute in providing solutions to integration-related problems, including interface failures, data flow issues, performance bottlenecks, and platform limitations.
- Define and govern integration architecture strategy, standards, API design guidelines, naming conventions, error-handling frameworks, and interface documentation.
- Design integration patterns including point-to-point, hub-and-spoke, ESB, event-driven, and API-led approaches based on use-case requirements.
- Lead design and development of integration flows, services, adapters, connectors, deployment architecture, monitoring standards, and reusable components on WebMethods Integration Server and/or webMethods.io.
- Collaborate with SAP, ServiceNow, ABAP, functional, infrastructure, security, network, and DevOps teams to ensure successful integration design, build, testing, cutover, and hypercare support.
- Maintain interface registries, data flow documentation, operational runbooks, integration health dashboards, and API lifecycle management processes.
- Provide L3 escalation support, perform root-cause analysis, remediate integration risks, and drive continuous improvement by modernising legacy interfaces and consolidating redundant integrations.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Software AG WebMethods Integration Server and/or webMethods.io.
- Strong hands-on experience with integration flows, Java services, adapters, document types, triggers, SAP Adapter, JDBC Adapter, REST/SOAP connectors, JMS/MQ connectors, error handling, retry logic, and dead-letter queue patterns.
- Strong knowledge of SAP integration architecture including SAP S/4HANA, SAP IS-U, SAP BTP Integration Suite, SAP API Management, IDocs, BAPIs, RFC/tRFC, OData APIs, SOAP/REST services, SAP Event Mesh, and ALE/IDOC distribution models.
- Experience with ServiceNow integration capabilities including IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, REST/SOAP Message configurations, Import Sets, Transform Maps, Scripted REST APIs, and MID Server configuration.
- Ability to design integrations between ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, FSM, CSM and enterprise systems such as SAP, HR platforms, and other business applications.
- Experience producing integration architecture artefacts such as solution design documents, sequence diagrams, interface specifications, interface catalogues, data mappings, and integration topology diagrams.
- Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns, API lifecycle management, CI/CD pipelines, OAuth 2.0, mutual TLS, API gateways, secrets management, TOGAF, and integration governance models.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills with ability to work in a global delivery model across time zones.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 12 years of experience in enterprise integration architecture with hands-on expertise in SAP, ServiceNow, WebMethods, and other enterprise applications.
- Experience in large-scale organizations with complex multi-system landscapes is preferred.
- This position requires strong collaboration with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, functional consultants, DevOps, infrastructure, security, network, and vendor teams.
- A 15 years full time education is preferred.
