Chief Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and monitor campus infrastructure development and maintenance projects.
- Supervise civil, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems across all University buildings and facilities.
- Manage vendors and contractors, including tendering, negotiation, and quality control of work executed.
- Prepare and manage budgets for maintenance, repair, and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, building codes, and statutory regulations.
- Lead, train, and supervise the engineering and maintenance team, including junior engineers and technical staff.
- Liaise with government departments, regulatory authorities, and utility service providers as required.
- Conduct periodic inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
- Support sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives across the campus.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (M.Tech preferred).
- Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience, preferably in institutional, campus, or large facility infrastructure management.
- Demonstrated experience in project execution, contractor management, and budget administration.
Desired Skills
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proven project management and planning skills.
- Working knowledge of applicable safety codes, building regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Sound budgeting and cost-control abilities.
- Effective communication and coordination skills for liaising with internal departments and external agencies.
