The role will involve managing Prensa’s NATA accredited laboratory in Sydney where you will also help transition graduate analysts from the laboratory environment to a field based HSE consulting role. The ideal candidate will be able to take their field experience in asbestos management to help guide analysts through the process into becoming field HSE consultants. During your time you will perform some of the following tasks:
- Bulk asbestos material testing;
- Asbestos fibre counting;
- Scientific reporting of analytical results;
- Coordination of laboratory activities and staff
- Equipment calibrations;
- Sign-off of NATA endorsed reports as a Prensa Signatory;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite;
- Adhoc admin tasks for the laboratory;
- Maintenance of laboratory assets;
- Tracking and ordering of lab supplies;
- Developing graduate lab techs; and
- Field consulting as needed.

- Preferably 2 years’ experience in a laboratory;
- Understanding of AS 4964-2004 and experience in asbestos bulk sample analysis preferred
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills;
- Hold a valid driver’s licence and have access to a private vehicle;
- Be an Australian citizen or be a permanent resident;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Have completed a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree;
