About the Role
We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineering Intern who can work directly on real-world problems and turn customer, business, and internal requirements into working technical solutions.
This is an execution-focused engineering role. You won't be limited to writing code from predefined specifications. You will be expected to understand the problem, figure out the best solution, build it, test it, deploy it, and continuously improve it.
You will work closely with the product, operations, and business teams to solve practical problems using software, automation, APIs, AI, and other technologies.
What You Will Do
- Work directly on requirements coming from customers, business teams, operations, and management.
- Understand the actual problem behind a requirement before starting development.
- Build, modify, and improve features based on real-world needs.
- Integrate APIs, third-party services, databases, and internal systems.
- Develop automation to eliminate repetitive manual work.
- Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts quickly.
- Work with AI/LLMs and AI agents to solve business problems.
- Debug existing applications and identify the root cause of issues.
- Test solutions and make sure they work reliably.
- Deploy and monitor solutions in real environments.
- Work with engineers and product teams to improve existing systems.
- Collect feedback from users and convert it into technical improvements.
- Document important technical solutions and processes.
- Take ownership of a problem from requirement → solution → implementation → deployment → feedback → improvement.
Example of the Work
You may receive a requirement such as:
"Schools are spending too much time manually generating monthly reports."
You should be able to:
Understand the problem → analyze the existing process → design a solution → build automation → integrate it with the system → test it → deploy it → collect feedback → improve it.
The goal is not simply to write code.
The goal is to solve the problem.
Skills We Are Looking ForTechnical
- Strong programming fundamentals.
- Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or similar.
- Basic understanding of APIs and REST.
- Basic knowledge of databases and SQL.
- Understanding of Git and software development workflows.
- Familiarity with web technologies is a plus.
- Experience with AI/LLMs, automation, or AI agents is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms is a plus.
Problem Solving
We value problem-solving ability more than knowing a large number of technologies.
You should be able to:
- Break a large problem into smaller problems.
- Research unfamiliar technologies independently.
- Learn quickly.
- Build working solutions with limited guidance.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues.
- Make practical technical decisions.
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical people.
What Makes This Role Different?
A traditional software engineering role may look like:
Requirement → Specification → Code → Review
A Forward Deployed Engineering role is closer to:
Real Problem → Understand → Investigate → Design → Build → Deploy → Get Feedback → Improve
You may work across engineering, product, operations, AI, automation, and customer-facing problem solving.
Who Can Apply?
- Students pursuing Computer Science, IT, AI/ML, or related fields.
- Recent graduates.
- Developers with 0–2 years of experience.
- Strong self-taught developers are also encouraged to apply.
We care more about what you can build and how you solve problems than your degree.
Bonus Skills
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Python
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- React / Next.js
- Node.js
- SQL
- REST APIs
- Git/GitHub
- Docker
- Cloud platforms
- OpenAI/LLM APIs
- RAG
- AI agents
- Workflow automation
- n8n / Zapier / Make
- SaaS applications
You don't need to know all of these.
What You Will Learn
During the internship, you will gain hands-on experience in:
- Production software development
- AI application development
- AI agents and automation
- API integrations
- SaaS product development
- Customer-driven engineering
- Debugging and deployment
- Product thinking
- System design
- Rapid prototyping
- Startup engineering
Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who hears:
"This isn't working. Can you fix it?"
and thinks:
"Let me understand the problem and figure out how to solve it."
If you enjoy building things, experimenting with technology, solving ambiguous problems, and taking ownership from start to finish, this role is for you.
This is not a ticket-closing internship. It is a problem-solving internship
