API / Integration Developer - Job Description
Role: Lead API
Location: Offshore
The API / Integration Developer-Lead API is responsible for designing, developing, and leading the implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs and integration solutions. This role focuses on building and governing API led architectures that support web and mobile applications, leveraging Java, Node.js, MongoDB, and AWS Cloud technologies.
The role provides technical leadership to offshore development teams while ensuring adherence to enterprise integration standards and best practices.
API & Integration Development
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and integration services using Java and Node.js.
- Implement API led integration patterns to enable seamless communication between internal systems and external platforms.
- Develop scalable data access layers and integrations using MongoDB.
- Ensure APIs are optimized for mobile and web consumption, focusing on performance and reliability.
Cloud & Platform Integration
- Design and deploy API solutions on AWS Cloud, ensuring scalability, availability, and security.
- Integrate APIs with cloud services and backend systems following cloud native design principles.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments for API services.
Technical Leadership (Offshore)
- Provide technical guidance and code reviews for offshore API and integration developers.
- Define and enforce API standards, versioning strategies, and documentation practices.
- Troubleshoot complex integration issues and drive root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and QA teams to ensure end to end delivery.
Quality, Security & Governance
- Ensure API implementations comply with security, performance, and compliance standards.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and error handling best practices.
- Promote reusability and maintainability across integration components.
- Strong hands on experience with Java for API and integration development.
- Proficiency in Node.js for building backend and middleware services.
- Experience working with MongoDB and NoSQL data models.
- Solid experience deploying and managing applications on AWS Cloud.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, integration patterns, and API lifecycle management.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Ability to lead and mentor offshore development teams.
- Experience designing APIs for mobile applications.
- Exposure to microservices and cloud native architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and automation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
