About the Role
Karnataka Tiffin Room (KTR) is looking for a passionate and hardworking Dosa Maker / Kitchen Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing authentic South Indian dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and speed of service.
Candidates with experience in South Indian restaurants are preferred, but we are happy to train enthusiastic individuals with the right attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dosas, idlis, vadas, and other South Indian menu items as per KTR recipes and standards.
- Operate the dosa tawa efficiently while maintaining consistency in quality and presentation.
- Assist with mise en place, food preparation, and kitchen setup before service.
- Ensure all ingredients are stocked and available during service.
- Maintain cleanliness of the cooking station, utensils, equipment, and kitchen area.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Support the kitchen team during peak hours to ensure smooth operations.
- Minimize food wastage and handle ingredients responsibly.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies when required.
Requirements
- Experience as a Dosa Maker, Commis, Kitchen Helper, or in a South Indian restaurant is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of South Indian cuisine is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Willingness to learn and follow company SOPs.
- Good teamwork, discipline, and a positive attitude.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long working hours.
