Job Title: Head - Operations-Gold Mining
Reporting To: GM - Plant
Experience & Skills:
- 15+ years in mineral processing operations, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role in a gold plant.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of crushing, milling, thickening, leaching, and gold recovery circuits.
- Sound understanding of both process and mechanical systems
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of the gold processing plant, ensuring stable throughput, recovery, and product quality.
- Oversee crushing operations including Jaw Crushers and Cone Crushers, ensuring consistent feed size and equipment availability.
- Manage grinding circuits (Ball Mills), including mill loading, liner management, power draw optimization, and classification performance.
- Supervise thickener operations (high-rate / conventional), ensuring optimal settling, underflow density, overflow clarity, and reagent usage.
- Manage leaching circuits (CIL / CIP), including cyanide and lime control, oxygen management, residence time, carbon concentration, and gold dissolution kinetics.
- Ensure effective carbon management, including adsorption performance, carbon transfer, regeneration, and inventory control.
- Oversee elution, electrowinning, and smelting activities to ensure safe and efficient
- Monitor plant KPIs such as throughput, recovery, reagent consumption, power usage, gold recovery. water balance, and downtime
- Monitor and optimize throughput, recovery, reagent consumption, power usage, and water balance.
- Ensure stable operation through effective process control and SOP adherence.
- Shall be responsible for the Mechanical and maintenance of the plant
- Responsible for preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for crushers, mills, pumps, agitators, thickeners, screens, and conveyors.
- Review spares planning, shutdown execution, and commissioning of new equipment or modifications.
- Support preventive maintenance, shutdown planning, and equipment commissioning.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for major plant upsets.
- Review metallurgical balances, mass balances, and reconciliation reports.
- Analyze plant data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- · Prepare operational reports for management, highlighting risks, bottlenecks, and improvement actions.
