Job Summary:
The OT Nurse cum Technician is responsible for assisting surgeons and anesthetists during surgical procedures, maintaining sterile conditions in the operation theatre, and ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly prepared, handled, and maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pre-Operative Duties
- Prepare OT for scheduled and emergency surgeries
- Ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables are available and sterilized
- Check functionality of OT equipment (lights, suction, monitors, cautery, etc.)
- Assist in patient shifting and positioning
2. Intra-Operative Duties
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during procedures
- Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques
- Handle surgical instruments and pass them during procedures
- Monitor sterile field and prevent contamination
3. Post-Operative Duties
- Assist in shifting patients to recovery room/ICU
- Clean and disinfect OT after procedures
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per protocol
- Send instruments for sterilization
4. Equipment & Instrument Management
- Maintain OT inventory and stock of surgical items
- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of OT equipment
- Report any malfunction or damage immediately
- Assist in autoclaving and sterilization processes
5. Infection Control
- Follow hospital infection control protocols
- Maintain hygiene and sterilization standards in OT
- Ensure use of PPE and safety measures
6. Documentation
- Maintain OT registers, instrument logs, and sterilization records
- Record surgical details as required
- Ensure proper documentation for medico-legal cases
7. Emergency Handling
- Be available for emergency surgeries at all times
- Assist in life-saving procedures and trauma cases
- Act promptly in critical situations
Eligibility Criteria:
- GNM / B.Sc Nursing / OT Technician Course
- Valid Nursing Registration (if applicable)
- Experience in OT / ICU preferred (especially in OBGY, Pediatrics, General Surgery)
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures
- Understanding of sterilization and infection control
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good coordination and teamwork
- Attention to detail
Working Conditions:
- Rotational shifts (including night duties)
- On-call availability for emergency surgeries
- High-pressure and fast-paced environment

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
