Project Title: “Bioresource Conservation and Prospection (MMP025302)”
Applications are invited from talented and motivated candidates for working in a Mission Mode project, sanctioned by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi, entitled “Bioresource Conservation and Prospection (MMP025302)”. The project focuses on the exploration, conservation, and utilization of halophytic plant diversity from the Indian coastline. Major research activities include extensive field surveys and germplasm collection, DNA barcoding and molecular phylogenetic analysis of halophytes for species authentication and biodiversity assessment, untargeted and targeted metabolomic profiling using advanced mass spectrometry to identify bioactive metabolites and chemotypic variations, chemotyping of economically important halophytes, rhizosphere microbiome and PGPR characterization, and the development of value-added applications from halophytic bioresources. The project offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge techniques such as molecular biology, metabolomics, bioinformatics, and biodiversity conservation while working in a multidisciplinary research environment. Senior Project Associate : 01 Post
Masters or Integrated Masters in Agricultural Science in Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology/Agricultural Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Plant Physiology and 3 years experience in research and development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
OR
Ph.D. in Plant Science/Botany/Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Plant Physiology from a recognised university and 2 years experience in research and development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
Desirable: Minimum two publications in SCI journals
The selected candidates will work on physiological, biochemical, molecular biology and biotechnology related project activities in CSIR Mission Mode project entitled “Bioresource Conservation and Prospection (MMP025302)”.
Monthly emoluments (in ₹)
- Relaxation in age / qualification as per CSIR norms.
This position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 6 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.

- Experience certificates must clearly indicate the duration of experience, place of work, and position held. Contractual work experience will not be considered as part of experience.
