About the Role
Gokulam Grand Trivandrum is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Intern to join our Engineering & Maintenance team. This internship offers hands-on exposure to the operation, maintenance, and management of engineering systems within a luxury five-star hotel environment. The selected candidate will work closely with experienced engineering professionals and gain practical knowledge of hospitality facility management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Engineering team in the maintenance and operation of hotel facilities and equipment.
- Support preventive maintenance activities for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and utility systems.
- Participate in daily engineering inspections and maintenance rounds.
- Assist in monitoring energy consumption and sustainability initiatives.
- Help maintain engineering logs, maintenance records, and equipment documentation.
- Support troubleshooting activities under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Ensure compliance with hotel safety standards, fire and life safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Assist in coordinating contractor and vendor activities when required.
- Participate in engineering projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and guest comfort.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer.
Eligibility Criteria
- Recently completed a Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or Engineering qualification in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Facility Management or related disciplines
- Basic understanding of building systems and maintenance practices.
- Strong willingness to learn and work in a hospitality environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented and service-focused environment.
