We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who thrives on building high-performance, scalable systems that power mission-critical AI-driven hiring experiences.
You’ll work across Talview’s backend ecosystem—spanning PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS Lambda, GraphQL, Hasura, Temporal, and microservices—while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and globally scalable solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who loves solving deep technical problems, owning services end-to-end, and contributing to a fast-moving engineering culture.

Build scalable microservices Design, develop, and operate services that power millions of assessments

Optimize performance Monitor system behavior and continuously improve speed, efficiency, and reliability

Collaborate cross-functionally Work closely with Frontend, QA, Product, and Customer Success teams

Own your services From development to deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and iterative improvement

Experiment and innovate Participate in POCs, contribute to architectural discussions, and test new ideas

Integrate across ecosystems Work with third-party APIs, internal services, and diverse data sources

Solve meaningful engineering challenges Contribute directly to platform stability, scalability, and user impact

5-8 years of strong backend engineering experience with Node.js
-
Deep understanding of OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles
-
Experience writing unit, integration, and functional tests
-
Strong knowledge of distributed systems, performance tuning, and CI/CD automation
-
Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)

Familiarity with additional data stores and tech such as:

Time-series DBs (InfluxDB, Prometheus)

Message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS)

Caches (Redis, Memcached)

GraphQL frameworks (Hasura, Apollo)

Object storage solutions (S3, Azure Blob)

Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and microservice architecture

Experience working in SaaS or high-scale product companies

Exposure to customer-facing engineering work

Familiarity with Git, VS Code, REST clients, and debugging tools

Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies

Strong written & verbal communication

Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools like Cursor, Windsurf, Codex, etc.
