OT nurse demonstrates knowledge and skills required for patients undergoing surgery by ensuring safety and quality care.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Check daily inventory before every shift commences.
2. Ensure OT surface and equipment are clean and in functional condition. Inform Incharge if equipment /instruments are in nonfunctional status.
3. Prepare OR for surgery based on the cases.
4. Position patients appropriately
5. Ensure safety and comfort of patient
6. Assist in transporting to and from OT
7. Monitor vital parameters,height weight and anthoprometric measurements
8. Dispatches the specimen to the laboratory for analysis after completion of the procedure and maintains records.
9. Provide lactation support for mother and encourage and support Kangaroo mother care
10. Maintains records of the usage of equipment, consumable and non-consumable items in the OT.
11. Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocols
12. Ensures instruments sterility
13. Ensures instruments are rinsed before sending to CSSD for sterilization
14. Displays professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner.
15. Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
16. Ensure patient safety and quality of care as per protocol
17. Practice nursing code of ethics
18. Attend in-service education as per schedule
19. Report incidents
