Job Summary
The Café Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily floor operations of the café, ensuring excellent customer service, smooth staff coordination, operational efficiency, and adherence to quality and hygiene standards. The role focuses on creating a positive guest experience while maximizing sales and maintaining service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Floor Operations Management
- Supervise day-to-day café floor operations during assigned shifts.
- Ensure smooth coordination between service staff, kitchen, and cashier.
- Monitor customer flow, seating arrangements, and table turnover.
- Handle opening and closing procedures of the café.
Customer Service
- Ensure guests receive prompt, courteous, and high-quality service.
- Address customer complaints and resolve service issues professionally.
- Build positive guest relationships and encourage repeat business.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement service improvements.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise waiters, baristas, stewards, and service staff.
- Conduct shift briefings and allocate duties effectively.
- Train employees on service standards, grooming, and customer handling.
- Monitor staff attendance, discipline, and performance.
Sales & Upselling
- Promote café specials, seasonal menus, and promotional offers.
- Encourage upselling and cross-selling to increase revenue.
- Monitor daily sales performance and customer trends.
Hygiene & Safety
- Ensure cleanliness of dining areas, counters, furniture, and service stations.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Ensure staff follow grooming and uniform policies.
- Monitor workplace safety practices.
Inventory & Coordination
- Coordinate with kitchen and store teams for stock availability.
- Monitor usage of service supplies and minimize wastage.
- Report maintenance issues and equipment breakdowns promptly.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare daily operational and sales reports.
- Maintain shift records, incident logs, and customer feedback reports.
- Assist management in implementing operational policies and SOPs.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in café, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
- Previous supervisory or floor management experience preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Good understanding of café operations and service standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of POS systems and reporting.
