Job Purpose
As the Planning Analytics (TM1) Applications & Platform Owner, you will be responsible for both the strategic and operational management of the Planning Analytics platform and its hosted applications at Opella. This includes defining the technical architecture, ensuring platform stability and compliance, managing application lifecycle activities, and acting as the key liaison between business stakeholders, support teams, and vendors. You will play a critical role in enabling financial and business planning processes through a secure, scalable, and high-performing TM1 environment.
Planning Analytics platform is the shared platform which hosts all Planning Analytics (TM1) applications at Opella. Mostly for the finance department but also for other business units, all types of applications are represented: from small to extended, standard to critical.
This variety range makes this position a transversal role and requires coordination between teams, as well as good technical knowledge.
Main Responsibilities
Platform Activities
Define and maintain the technical architecture of the Planning Analytics platform.
Plan and execute platform-level activities such as software upgrades, versioning, patching, and disaster recovery testing.
Lead troubleshooting investigations to find root causes and decide the best technical solutions to reported issues
Perform capacity planning and ensure optimal use of infrastructure resources.
Implement and maintain monitoring tools and KPIs for platform performance and availability.
Ensure compliance with Opella’s quality, security, and audit standards for all platform-level operations.
Manage vendor relationships related to infrastructure, licensing, and platform services.
Innovate to improve service delivery, platform scalability, and cost efficiency.
Create, Maintain and enhance the PA license reporting tool (in Power BI or similar) and other platform utilities.
Ensure platform readiness for all hosted applications, regardless of size, complexity, or regulatory requirements
Application Activities
Act as the internal Application Owner and bridge between the Product Owner, Support Team, and business stakeholders.
Oversee day-to-day application management, including audits, MDM coordination, data quality, and planned operational activities.
Lead incident management by reviewing and resolving critical or aged items in collaboration with the Support Team.
Perform digital admin tasks: start/stop environments and cubes, backup/restore applications, create/delete cubes, write calculation scripts, manage security roles, and maintain admin interfaces.
Drive continuous improvement and simplification of applications based on evolving business needs.
Manage the lifecycle of Planning Analytics applications, from development to decommissioning.
Collaborate with finance and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for application configurations, processes, and changes.
About You
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Solid 8-10 years' experience in a similar role managing Planning Analytics (TM1) platforms and applications.
Strong knowledge of IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), including administration, development, and architecture.
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting or similar automation tools.
Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Ansible, GitHub Actions) and container platforms (e.g., OpenShift).
Cloud experience, preferably with AWS.
Understanding of network fundamentals (load balancers, DNS, certificates).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead complex technical investigations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with SQL, Python, or other relevant programming languages is a plus.
Knowledge of financial planning and analysis processes is advantageous.
Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Cognos TM1, AWS) are a plus.
