1. Pre-Operative (Before Surgery)
- Patient Prep: Verify patient identity, consent forms, surgical site marking, and NPO (fasting) status.
- Room Setup: Prepare the operating room with necessary surgical equipment, supplies, and sterile packs.
- Safety Protocols: Perform the surgical "Sign In" checklist (vitals, allergies, pre-anesthesia orders) alongside the surgical and anesthesia teams.
2. Intra-Operative (During Surgery)
- Scrub Role: Maintain a sterile field, scrub in with the surgeon, and directly assist by passing instruments, sponges, and devices.
- Circulating Role: Act as the patient's advocate while they are under anesthesia. Document the procedure, manage specimen collection, and perform rigorous instrument and sponge counts to prevent retained items.
- Anesthetic Assistance: Help the anesthesiologist with airway management, inserting IV lines, and administering emergency medications.
3. Post-Operative (After Surgery)
- Patient Transfer: Safely transfer the patient to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) while continuously monitoring their vital signs.
- Decontamination: Oversee the safe disposal of hazardous waste and ensure the transfer of contaminated instruments to the central sterilization department.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
