Role Description:
We’re looking for a warm, energetic PLAY GROUP Teacher who genuinely enjoys working with
young children. The right educator will build a safe, caring, and joyful classroom where little
learners feel confident to explore, express themselves, and grow. Through thoughtful planning
and creative teaching, you’ll support their social skills, emotional confidence, and early learning
foundations.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement engaging daily lessons in line with the Kids of Our Universe ELC
curriculum, using play-based and inquiry-led methods to make learning meaningful.

Foster an inclusive, engaging, and secure classroom environment that nurtures
children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
●
Observe and assess each child’s progress consistently; document learning journeys,
maintain portfolios, and prepare clear progress reports.
●
Establish smooth classroom routines and transitions, guiding behaviour positively in
accordance with centre policies (strictly no corporal punishment).
●
Develop strong partnerships with parents and guardians through open communication,
meetings, and regular updates.
●
Work closely with the Head of Centre and colleagues on lesson planning, events,
enrolment processes, and overall centre development.
●
Adhere to safeguarding, health, safety, and hygiene standards; take part in safety drills
and maintain accurate incident documentation.
●
Attend staff meetings, participate in professional development programs, and actively
contribute shared learning to the team.

Provide direction and oversight to classroom assistants, interns, and volunteers as
needed.
●
Organize and maintain classroom materials, request necessary supplies, and ensure
learning spaces remain orderly and inviting.
Role Overview
The Preschool Teacher is accountable for designing, implementing, and reviewing meaningful,
play-focused learning experiences for children (within the centre’s designated age group, e.g.,
10 months to 6 years). The role involves fostering a secure and caring classroom atmosphere, closely monitoring and documenting developmental progress, partnering with families, and
actively supporting daily centre functions and events.
Qualifications & Experience
●
Essential: Degree, diploma, or certification in Early Childhood Care and Education
(ECCE) or an equivalent qualification.
●
Preferred: B.Ed. or a qualification in a related discipline.
●
3–5 years (or more) of experience in preschool or early years environments is desirable.
Familiarity with IB, Montessori, play-based, or Reggio-inspired practices will be
considered an added benefit.
●
Valid first-aid certification, or readiness to obtain one as required.
●
Clear background verification and the ability to submit professional references along with
proof of identity and qualifications.
