1. ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced EHS Officer with over 6 years of progressive experience in
manufacturing environments. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing and managing Environment,
Health & Safety systems at the plant level, ensuring full regulatory and statutory compliance, conducting risk
assessments, investigating incidents, and promoting a proactive safety culture. This role demands hands-on leadership in daily Gemba walks, ISO audit readiness, emergency preparedness, and cross-functional collaboration with production and maintenance teams.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
A. Safety & Health Management
- Provide EHS leadership to fulfil statutory and organizational EHS requirements across the plant.
- Conduct daily Gemba walks with shop floor teams to identify unsafe acts (UA) and unsafe conditions (UC) and drive corrective actions.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences; perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement CAPA.
- Prepare, review, and update Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) registers and Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Organize and conduct Safety Committee meetings; prepare and circulate Minutes of Meetings (MOMs).
- Lead daily safety stand-up meetings with area in-charges for proactive safety and continual improvement.
- Conduct firefighting drills, mock emergency drills, and first aid training including CPR and emergency response.
- Deliver toolbox talks on monsoon precautions, electrical safety, height work, welding safety, and defensive driving.
- Prepare and execute the Monthly Safety Activity Plan and report safety statistics to management.
- Prepare and maintain On-Site and Off-Site Emergency Preparedness & Response Plans.
- Lead the TPM SHE Pillar, driving safety, health, and environmental practices organization wide.
- Prepare KRAs for identified risk areas and track timely closure of action points.
B. Environment Management
- Monitor environment parameters: Ambient Air, DG Stack, DG Noise, Noise, Drinking Water, and Wastewater.
- Update environmental monitoring data in the organization’s online compliance system.
- Prepare and maintain the Environmental Aspect-Impact Register for all site activities.
- Manage Hazardous Waste per statutory requirements; maintain Form-10 (Manifest) and coordinate compliant disposal.
- Monitor MPCB consents, Form-4, and Form-5; ensure zero non-compliance during inspections.
- Prepare quarterly Environmental Objectives & Targets and monitor progress against them.
- Implement water conservation and rainwater harvesting techniques; manage the Decentralized Wastewater
Treatment System (DWTS).
- Track chemical consumption and raw materials at ETP plant; maintain PPE inventory.
- Support Sustainability Reporting and monitoring as per corporate group targets.
- Maintain and develop the green belt area within factory premises.
C. Statutory & Legal Compliance
- Verify and update legal requirements, consents, licences, and statutory registers including via Avanti Legal Documents Compliance Portal.
- Ensure full compliance with the Factories Act and all applicable EHS-related regulations.
- Interface with MPCB, factory inspectors, and other regulatory bodies; provide required documentation and data.
- Prepare and file all statutory returns accurately and on time.
D. Audit & Documentation
- Prepare, maintain, and update documentation as per ISO 45001:2018 (OHSMS) and ISO 14001:2015 (EMS) standards.
- Participate in internal and external audits; prepare audit evidence and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Conduct internal and expertise training programmes; assess trainees for effectiveness of each programme.
- Prepare checklists for different job natures based on risk assessments and periodic review cycles.
- Compile and submit MIS reports and safety statistics to management on a monthly basis.
3. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
. Mandatory Qualifications
- Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) from MSBTE or an equivalent recognized body.
- Diploma / Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Mechanical, or related discipline) from a recognized university.
- Certification in EMS (ISO 14001:2015) and OHSMS (ISO 45001:2018) is highly desirable.
- Advance Diploma in Environment Engineering (pursuing or completed) is an added advantage.
. Experience Requirements
- 6+ years of total EHS experience in manufacturing / plant environments — automotive, engineering, MEP projects, or allied industries.
- Demonstrated experience in environmental monitoring, hazardous waste management, and MPCB compliance.
- Hands-on experience in ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 documentation preparation and audit support.
- Experience managing EHS in MEP / construction / HVAC project environments is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, and compliance portals (e.g., Avanti Legal Documents Compliance Portal).
Pay: ₹900,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
