Sappy Biofuels Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Lab Operator / Chemist to support our biodiesel production facility in Kanpur. The candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, ensuring fuel quality, and maintaining safety and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine laboratory analysis of biodiesel, feedstock, glycerin, and other samples.
- Perform quality checks as per ASTM / EN standards (viscosity, flash point, acid value, water content, etc.).
- Prepare and standardize chemical reagents for testing.
- Maintain laboratory records, test reports, and calibration logs.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols in handling chemicals.
- Support production team with process improvements and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
- B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry OR Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
- Experience in analytical chemistry / QC laboratory preferred (chemical, oil, or biodiesel industry).
- Experience in biodiesel production using Tallow and Acid oil.
- Knowledge of lab instruments such as GC, titration, viscometer, flash point apparatus, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping.
