Job Summary:
The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing efficient and cost-effective solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role involves preparing technical drawings, conducting system design calculations, supporting site surveys, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure accurate project execution.
Roles & Responsibilities:
A. Solar System Design
- Prepare rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV system layouts using AutoCAD.
- Design on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid solar PV systems.
- Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD), General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and electrical layouts.
- Optimize system design to maximize energy generation and efficiency.
B. Site Survey & Technical Assessment
- Conduct or assist in site surveys and feasibility assessments.
- Analyze rooftop dimensions, structural conditions, shading, and electrical infrastructure.
- Collect technical data required for system design and project execution.
C. Design Documentation
- Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities), technical specifications, and design reports.
- Develop project drawings and documentation as per company standards.
- Maintain design records and project documentation.
D. Software & Analysis
- Assist in the design and layout of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Perform generation analysis and energy yield calculations.
- Review designs for technical accuracy and compliance.
E. Coordination
- Coordinate with Sales, Projects, Procurement, and Installation teams.
- Provide technical support during project execution and commissioning.
- Assist in resolving design-related technical issues.
F. Quality & Compliance
- Verify that project drawings meet safety and quality standards.
- Support documentation required for government subsidy and net metering applications.
G. Additional Responsibilities
- Assist in continuous improvement of design processes.
- Stay updated with the latest solar technologies and industry standards.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Management from time to time.
Required Qualifications:
Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and designing solar PV systems.
- Knowledge of solar PV system design and electrical fundamentals.
- Familiarity with SketchUp or similar software for 3D modeling (preferred).
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
Preferred Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in solar PV design.
- Experience in residential and commercial rooftop solar projects is preferred.
Preferred Location:
Candidates residing in Birati, New Barrackpore, Madhyamgram, Dum Dum, Barasat, Bisharpara, Kankinara, Barrackpore, and nearby areas will be preferred.
Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
