The Role
We are looking for a meticulous and efficient Architectural Draughtsman to support our design team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our technical documentation, converting architectural and landscape concepts into highly accurate, permit-ready construction drawings. If you have a sharp eye for detail, expert-level CAD skills, and a deep understanding of site dimensions and regulations, you will thrive in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Drafting: Produce clear, accurate, and detailed 2D drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and structural details for landscape and architectural elements.
- Master Plan & Site Layouts: Assist in drafting large-scale master plans, multi-level parking layouts, and complex grading/drainage plans.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all drawings accurately reflect local building codes, site setbacks, and Floor Area Ratio (FAR) regulations for various plot sizes across the Bangalore region.
- Standardization: Maintain strict layer management, formatting, and file organization standards across all CAD projects to ensure smooth collaboration with the broader team.
- Quantity Takeoffs: Extract accurate measurements, areas, and material quantities from drawings to assist the project management team with material planning and site execution.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead Landscape Architect and external consultants to revise drawings based on feedback and on-site structural requirements.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in Architectural Assistantship, Civil Draftsmanship, or a related technical certification.
- Software Mastery: Expert proficiency in ZWCAD (or AutoCAD) is strictly required. You must be fast, utilizing keyboard shortcuts and advanced drafting workflows.
- Documentation: Proven experience in creating comprehensive Construction Documentation (CD) sets and Good for Construction (GFC) drawings.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with Karnataka/Bangalore zoning laws, standard plot dimensions, and typical residential/commercial setback requirements.
- Detail-Oriented: A strong understanding of construction materials and how things are built, ensuring that drafted details are actually executable on-site.
