The PGT Business Studies Teacher is responsible for teaching Business Studies to students of Classes XI and XII (CBSE/ISC/State Board), ensuring conceptual understanding, practical application of business principles, and excellent board examination results. The teacher also contributes to students' overall academic and personality development.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Business Studies to Classes XI and XII as per the prescribed curriculum.
- Prepare annual lesson plans, daily lesson plans, assignments, worksheets, and assessments.
- Conduct engaging and interactive classroom sessions using case studies, presentations, and real-life business examples.
- Prepare students for board examinations through revisions, mock tests, and doubt-clearing sessions.
- Assess students' performance and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain attendance, academic records, and progress reports.
- Integrate technology (smart boards, LMS, digital tools) into teaching.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, and school events.
- Organize commerce-related activities such as business quizzes, entrepreneurship clubs, seminars, and competitions.
- Ensure classroom discipline and create a positive learning environment.
- Stay updated with changes in curriculum and teaching methodologies.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Commerce (M.Com), MBA, or equivalent with Business Studies specialization.
- B.Ed. from a recognized university (mandatory in most CBSE schools).
- CTET/State TET may be preferred where applicable.
- Strong command of Business Studies concepts and CBSE/ISC curriculum.
Experience
- Typically 3–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE/ISC senior secondary school.
- Freshers may be considered by some schools if they have strong academic credentials.
