Role Overview
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting the ServiceNow Security Operations Vulnerability Response module.
The role requires strong end-to-end implementation experience, vulnerability lifecycle knowledge, ServiceNow scripting expertise, and hands-on experience integrating ServiceNow with third-party vulnerability and security platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and implement ServiceNow Vulnerability Response solutions.
- Manage end-to-end vulnerability identification, prioritization, assignment, remediation, and closure workflows.
- Configure vulnerable items, remediation tasks, assignment rules, risk scores, SLAs, dashboards, and reports.
- Develop and optimize integrations between ServiceNow and third-party security platforms.
- Configure import sets, transform maps, scheduled imports, data sources, and reconciliation processes.
- Build workflows and automations using Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and orchestration.
- Develop ServiceNow solutions using JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, and Client Scripts.
- Configure MID Servers and troubleshoot connectivity and integration failures.
- Support testing, SIT, UAT, production deployments, defect resolution, and post-production support.
- Work with security, infrastructure, risk, compliance, and business stakeholders.
- Prepare technical documentation, implementation guides, and support documentation.
- Follow ServiceNow development standards, security practices, and release-management processes.
Mandatory Skills
- 5–8 years of overall ServiceNow experience.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on ServiceNow Security Operations experience.
- Strong implementation experience in ServiceNow Vulnerability Response.
- End-to-end Vulnerability Response implementation and administration.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability lifecycle management.
- Experience with CVE, CWE, CVSS, risk scoring, remediation workflows, and exception management.
- Strong JavaScript and Glide API knowledge.
- Experience with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, orchestration, workflows, and scripting.
- Experience with REST APIs, SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, and web services.
- Experience configuring MID Servers.
- Strong knowledge of import sets, transform maps, scheduled imports, and data reconciliation.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and production-support capabilities.
Integration Experience
Candidates should have experience integrating ServiceNow with one or more of the following tools:
- Qualys
- Rapid7
- Tenable
- CrowdStrike
- Splunk
- BigFix
- SCCM
- Other enterprise vulnerability or security platforms
Preferred Skills
- ServiceNow IRM/GRC exposure.
- Security Incident Response experience.
- CMDB and Discovery knowledge.
- Experience with vulnerability prioritization and risk-based remediation.
- ServiceNow CAD or SecOps-related certification.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Agile or Scrum delivery experience.
- Experience working with global security and compliance teams.
