ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a seasoned insurance professional to join us as an Trainer on a contractual basis. The primary mandate of this role is to design and deliver high-impact training programs for new joiner batches, equipping them with a strong foundation in insurance concepts, life underwriting principles, regulatory frameworks, and domain-specific guidelines. The ideal candidate brings hands-on industry experience, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for building knowledge from the ground up.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training Delivery
Conduct structured induction and foundational training sessions for new joiner batches covering basics of insurance and life insurance.
Deliver in-depth modules on life insurance underwriting concepts including risk assessment, mortality tables, medical and financial underwriting.
Train participants on underwriting guidelines, standard operating procedures, and company/regulatory frameworks.
Facilitate interactive sessions, case studies, role plays, and knowledge assessments to reinforce learning.
Ensure consistent training quality and experience across all batches.
Content Development
Design and develop training materials including presentations, handouts, workbooks, and e-learning aids.
Customise training content to align with current industry trends, regulatory updates (IRDAI guidelines), and organizational requirements.
Regularly review and refresh training content to keep it current and relevant.
Assessment & Reporting
Develop pre-training and post-training assessments to measure knowledge gain and training effectiveness.
Track and report batch-wise training progress, attendance, and assessment scores to the Training Head.
Identify knowledge gaps and recommend supplementary training or refresher programs.
Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate with internal QC, operations, and HR teams to understand process-specific training requirements.
Incorporate feedback from process managers and team leads to continuously improve training delivery.
Adhere to training schedules and ensure timely completion of planned programs.

Life Insurance Products – Term, ULIP, endowment, pension, and health riders
Life Insurance Underwriting – Risk classification, acceptance, deferral, and decline
Medical Underwriting – Understanding medical reports, impairments, and
Financial Underwriting – Income assessment, need analysis, and moral hazard
Reinsurance Basics – Treaty and facultative reinsurance concepts
IRDAI Regulations & Compliance – Applicable circulars, guidelines, and code of conduct
Claims Awareness – Overview of life insurance claims process
Soft Skills for Insurance Professionals – Communication, TAT adherence, and customer focus
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Graduate or Post-Graduate in any discipline; Insurance certifications will be advantage(LIII, FIII, AIII, III).
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in the Life Insurance domain — underwriting, operations, or training functions.
- Prior experience in conducting insurance training programs, induction sessions, or classroom instruction is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IRDAI regulations, life insurance products, and underwriting SOPs.
- Familiarity with major life insurance companies' processes is an advantage.
